What these medicine words mean.

Peptide

What it is made of.

A peptide has tiny pieces linked in a short row, much like a string of beads. These same kinds of tiny pieces also make up proteins.

Approval

What has been reviewed.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) checks a specific medicine for a stated use.

Compounding

How it is prepared.

A doctor or pharmacist can prepare medicine for a patient's needs; this is called compounding.

Read the product name and the purpose together.

Ask what the study found about memory.

Ask what was tested in people, what changed in memory, and whether the studied product matches the one being offered.

An approval for a different use does not answer a question about memory.

Begin with your concern

Before comparing places for care.

Get the proposed product's full name. Ask who will assess the memory concern. Ask what happens if that person does not think the product fits.

Keep the evidence, the licence check and the full bill as separate questions.
